Catching a Thought in the Middle

in the deep night I watch for flares of

recognition, reconciliation

day to night to day

I live cyclically

matching, catching up with a sort of thought

that runs day to night to day

unending, unstopping

instead jarred from base to basis

always a beginning or an end

never stopping to continue thinking

midway where the flowers are

and the stars live
