I was born into a desert overflowing with myriads
Born into the opportunity of unending education
From the world

Cali is as diverse as anything can get
All lives blending culture with culture
A colorful concoction that I never
Have my fill of

And in the landscape a pastoral patchwork
Of sea and sand and strands of the
Tallest forests ever to pierce the darkness
Of my wide eyes

Who could not thirst here for everything
Offered in as many multitudes as
There are lives to live and learn
But time like the Santa Ana blows
Far to the sandy sea
